STOP !!!!! don't decorate.....just take a bite of these Cushions & Accessories.....

Everytime, you visit my blog......you are always reading something about interiors. But this time... hold your breadth to some unusual stuff. What you will witness now are some ordinary cakes in extraordinary designs.....take a look at it yourself !!!!!!
This post of mine is only to show that creativity has no bounds....... Dr. Seuss once said "Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!"
CAKES, CAKES, EVERYWHERE ...............................but don't feel like taking a bite......... admiration is the word....

Pablo Picasso once quoted "There are painters who transform the sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun" (all images from internet)

Figurines in colourful stones on the streets of MAHABALIPURAM

Mahabalipuram was a 7th century port city of the South Indian dynasty of the Pallavas around 60 km south from the city of Chennai in Tamil Nadu. It is believed to have been named after the Pallava king Mamalla. Read more here.
I found some lovely figurines in stone sold by some vendors on the streets of mahabalipuram. These can form a part of your south indian decor scheme. At very affordable prices, they are beautifully carved out in all kinds of stones (variuos colours). I also found out that there are some exclusive shops in Mahabalipuram where you could get made to order designs.

Visit Mahabalipuram for one of those exquisite pieces....

DakshinaChitra.............a must visit for all Interior Designers

DakshinaChitra is a center for the living traditions of art, folk performing arts, craft and architecture of India with an emphasis on the traditions of South India. DakshinaChitra is a project of the Madras Craft Foundation (MCF), a non-profit organisation. DakshinaChitra opened to the public in December 1996. The center occupies ten undulating acres overlooking the Bay of Bengal, at Muttukadu, twenty five kilometers south of Chennai, on the East Coast Road towards Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu. Please read more about DakshinaChitra here.
The whole place is divided majorly into four sections and showcases the traditional art, folk, interiors and architecture of the prominent cultures of Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka & Andhrapradesh (Primary states of South India). What you will see in this post are some glimpses of the Tamilnadu section. I would definitely love to go there again. I recommend this as a must visit for all art lovers and interior designers like me.

Wait for more pictures on DakshinaChitra in my forthcoming posts................ !!!!
